Winchester Spring Children's Business Fair

Join us to support local children to launch their very own startup business!

Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at our one-day marketplace.

We will host up to 30 booths at the next semi annual Winchester Children’s Business Fair on April 13th 2019 from 12pm to 4pm on the Old Town Walking Mall. We will also hold a Launch Event in March for local business owners to offer their experience, advice and answering any questions for our young entrepreneurs to be prepared for the Fair!

This event is hosted by Miss Abilities Organization and proceeds will benefit their nonprofit cause. We all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation.

Whether an entrepreneur is famous like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey or they are one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country, these are the people who make sacrifices to innovate, create jobs and serve their communities.

Questions will be pulled from registration forms and Beauties/Gentlemen (or an aide/Buddy) will answer from the heart. This category helps Beauties/Gentlemen practice one on one conversational skills.

5. On-stage Question – After the evening wear walk, each Beauty/Gentleman will be asked a question from the registration form for her/him to answer. This category helps Beauties/Gentlemen practice public speaking and take pride in themselves.

6. Overall Growth – The judges will spend time with Beauties/Gentlemen from the moment they arrive to the moment the walk on stage and will watch as each grows and becomes more comfortable, open and confident. This category helps the judges see more than just what’s on stage.

Princess/Prince Awards – Once the main scores are tabulated, Beauties who are to be crowned Princess will also each receive one additional award/sash in each age category for the following: Best Dressed, Biggest Smile, Most Sassy, Photogenic and Showcase

All Beauties/Gentlemen must submit a 5x7 or 8x10 photograph of themselves - This does not need to be a professional photo but it should be either a headshot or from the waist up

One Beauty from each age category will be named Queen and will receive a crown, trophy, Queen sash, and flowers. All other Beauties will receive a crown, trophy, one Princess Award sash, flowers and be named Princess. One Gentleman from each age category will be named King and will receive a mens crown, trophy, sash and boutonnière. All other Gentlemen will receive a medal, trophy, Prince sash, boutonnière and be named Prince.

Sponsorship Queen or King (OPTIONAL): Sponsorship money is funds collected by each Beauty/Gent for Miss Abilities Organization and are separate from the entry fee. This is a great opportunity for Beauties/Gents to build their communication skills, meet business people in our community and learn how to present themselves to others. Every Beauty/Gent that raises at least $100 will be given a special gift, a Sponsorship Princess or Prince Award will be presented in each age group to the individual who raises the largest amount of money through sponsors (there must be at least three sponsorship participants in each age group to name a Sponsorship Princess or Prince Award winner) and the overall sponsorship winner from all age groups who collects the largest dollar amount in sponsorships will be named Sponsorship Queen or King and receive a sash, pin, scepter, and a cash prize. Silent Night: A Sensory Friendly Dance Experience

Miss Abilities Organization is proud to present its first annual Silent Night dance - a unique and sensory friendly way of experiencing music at a dance. Guests will wear wireless headphones and a silent room instantly transforms in to a high energy musical atmosphere. This event is geared toward individuals with disabilities and/sensory sensitivities ages 7 and up and their friends, family and guardians. We do ask that a parent/guardian remain on the premises during the event however it is not required that the parent/guardian purchase a ticket (note that you will not be permitted to use headphones if you do not purchase headphones)

The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. Guests are able to hold a conversation more easily with their friends because there's n need to scream over the loud music. Just slide the headphones partially or completely off anytime you need a break.

There are three channels for each set of headphones - Top 40, Country and Christmas - and Special Ocassions Entertainment DJ Hampton Thoas will keep the music on all three channels playing the entire time. Along with being able to control the volume level of their headphones, the listeners have full control over which channel they listen to.

Tickets must be purchased in advance, tickets will not be sold at the door. Follow the link below to purchase your tickets.
